Worth seeing gems in Grödnertal

Nature and its spectacles are undoubtedly the biggest attractions of the Grödnertal. But during a holiday in Gröden you come across on numerous attractions that have been created by man. Middle Ages fans should not miss a visit to the ruins of the castles Stetteneck in St. Ulrich and Wolkenstein in Langental. 1926 the Venetian Carlo Franchetti bought the baroque castle in Wolkenstein and largely restored its original state after decades of decline. Another attraction which waits for you along a mountain hike to Monte Pana is a two-meter diameter spherical sundial. This shows not only the local time but the time of 60 cities around the world. Among worth seeing gems the St. Jakob church near St. Ulrich needs to be mentioned. This was probably built in the late 12th century, thus represents the oldest existing church in Grödnertal.
